why no love for LG?

Everyone LG phone i have had has been comparable to, if not better than, its Motorola counterpart. This leads me to ask: With LG and Moto going head-to-head with the new LTE technology, why no love for the LG Revolution?

The reason that Revolution gets no love is because they won't be first to market.

HTC's Thunderbolt will be hitting Verizon as the first 4G LTE device.

HTC, yet again first to market with the latest 4G device, now at Verizon.....lol.

First doesn't mean best. I think the HTC Thunderbolt is the worst of the 4G phones on VZW's network.

LG makes quality phones, but the problem is they market the lowest end phones. 5+ MP camera? Both the Thunderbolt and the Bionic have 8+ MP. 1GHz single core processor? Motorola has a dual core. LG's Revolution barely matches the specs of the Droid X. X has a 8+MP camera but no 4G. Revolution give the 4G but no 8+MP camera. It will be a good phone, no doubt, but unless they sell it at $199.99 it's gonna have a hard time getting attention away from the Bionic and Thunderbolt, or even the Samsung 4G.

You need to do more research on phones like check out Cnet they do reviews on phones and compare. Bigger megapixel doesn't always mean better pictures take for instance CNet did comparison test with the Droid X 8 meg camera and the Fascinate 5 meg camera and the Fascinate won it because the X was to grainy.I used to have the EnV Touch with 3.2 megapixel and I think that phone was better than my Fascinate. The ENV Touch had a German lens which was the key factor I think

Really depends on what you do with the picture. The LG Ally takes great pics with its 3.2MP camera as long as you keep them on the phone. However, if you are printing them out as 8X10s, they look like crap. Also has to do with the resolution of your screen. 5MP pics on an iPhone look great and even an 8X10 of it will look ok until you take a 8MP pic, print the 8X10 and compare. And, if you are only printing 8X10s, you really don't need anything more than 8MP even in a standard camera. But, if you want bigger pics you will want more than 8MP. Even will standard cameras, buying one with a 14MP camera will not benefit the average consumer unless they have a decent digital zoom. 8MP with a 3X digital zoom would be fine, but you still lose some r...

Additionally, the Thunderbolt, first to market, is having reported battery and headphone problems. Motorola is putting in a bigger batery and is rumored to be including an induction charger.

Induction Charging means you can set the phone onto a special mat or pad to charge instead of having to plug in a cable. There are exposed metal contacts on the back of the phone, usually by way of a modified battery door that you have to buy separately, which are supposed to link up with the mats but not get shorted by setting it on a random metal surface.

It's not solar, although I'm sure someone will make a charging mat with a solar panel if they haven't already.

Most marketing material will tell you this is ...

Induction charging does not require physical contact to work. If you look at, for example, the palm pre, which has it built in, there's no "exposed metal contacts".

Induction charging works on the principle of "induced" current; this is the same reason a transformer (think wall-wart power supply) works. Because the energy that can be induced drops off dramatically with distance, it effectively requires contact, but a magazine or other relatively thin insulator wouldn't appreciably affect performance.

It sounds like my toothbrush. Nothing exposed, but drop it into its cradle and it charges.

I have had one really bad LG phone a long time ago, but i have never had a bad Moto phone.

But, I have a question about LG that is spurred by a remark I saw here. How fast is LG to come out with software upgrades? I saw that as a complaint against Samsung here.

I don't really understand though, because I thought all of the software updates were pushed by Verizon instead of the manufacturer.

Thx,
Joey

Well I check one out today at my local verizon store and was totally not impressed. The screen is dull and very unresponsive made typing difficult and the text prediction crud kept C*ck blocking basic typing I gave up after 5 min of tinkering with the phone. My current phone is a two year old lg evn touch which I like.. I want to like this phone...unless the store phone was broken I think this is going to be a bomb dud of a phone ☹️

well I cant speak for everyone but here is my reason for no love for the lg, I used to be an avid lg fan that was all I bought untill I messed around and got the env touch and my daughter also had the phone and having between the two of us had it swapped out more times that i can remember, and also hearing the terrible phones they came out with the lg 9200 env 3s I have lost all faith in lg; can they get it back I dont know but for me I am now skeptical when i think about buying another lg phone
