🤤

So I just got off the phone with At&t to see if existing customers can pre-order this phone any time soon and the old gal didn't even know what I was talking about, much less understand the question. But she did some looking and came back and told me that she had found some info on the phone stating it will launch MARCH 1ST!!!! Im tired of my Captivate not having crap for GPS. The ONLY thing I MIGHT miss is the SuperAMOLED. CES Was just a few days ago. The phone looked ready to go there... Why do I have to wait a month and a half.... Doesn't At&t want to lock in more customers into a contract befor a ton of them leave for the VZ iPhone 4? Not like I'll ever go to crapy provider... But this phone could seriously keep a bunch of peo...

March 1st does seem very far away. I've heard different dates. Some places say January 15th. Some say the end of January. I hope it's January & not March. I just watched a clip from CES 2011 on the Atrix & now I want it even more! I would love to be play Angry Birds on my Netbook, plus be able to text. The processor on that thing is gonna be fast. Not to mention it's a Motorola, so reception should be awesome. One reason I loved my iPhone so much was because there were apps that I use a lot that weren't available on Android like the Dish Network app. Well, they are all available now on Android, so nothings holding me back from getting this phone.

I have a tablet that runs android & the only thing that was stopping me from getting an Android phone was that I didn't really like any of the ones AT&T had and some of my regular apps weren't available on Android. They're available now, so nothings stopping me from going to Android. I can't wait to have widgets without having to jailbreak!

Decided not to wait for this phone. For one, I would probably not end up using the laptop dock or any of the other ones. But the main reason is because Motorola locks down their phones & it won't be able to be rooted. Plus, I don't really care for Moto Blur. I decided on the Samsung Captivate & I absolutely love it! I loved my iPhone 4, but I love my Captivate even more. I'm going to root it so it will be even better. Reception is way better than my Iphone 4.

I like my Captivate as well but everything about this new phone is amazing. The only thing the Captivate MiGHT have on it is the Super AMOLED screen, which is pretty awesome I have to admit. I'm definitely gonna try to get the Atrix.

Why do you say that this phone wont be able to be rooted? And Motorola doesnt lock down their phones as much as its the providers. SPECIALLY AT&T!

I have no doubt that this thing will be able to be rooted and MotoBlur will be able to be removed.

I'm sorry, Motorola phones can be rooted but here is a quote from another forum which I tend to agree with.

"First issue is motorola's insistence on locking/encrypting the bootloader. This prevents anyone from updating the OS unless it's put out by Motorola or someone leaks a prerelease. Why is there an insistence on locking user's out of their own cell phones?

Second issue is Blur. Why mess with the droid UI? Especially in the newer releases, android has a lot of skins and customizations. A 3rd party UI like blur is painful to use, and also hampers OS updates since Motorola now has to not only make and test the new OS but backport blur to it."

My rep was telling me today that it is scheduled to arrive mid Feb. Not official, but he's been correct a lot in the past.

If there is a will, there is a way.

This thing will be rooted in under 30 days. With all of the attention that Motorola has brought onto it being 'locked down'...whoever roots it will be a hero.
