Well got the phone back in Feb. Started having some problems. VW replaced the phone, no charge. The new phone now needs to be re-programmed. The original phone was all set with my number plus a pause under button 1 🙂 Now I try to do the same thing with the new phone and can NOT add the pause. The 123 button can NOT be switched to ABC to add the T or P for pause. So now I have to enter my pass manually, what a hassel. Any suggestions? Did LG change the software to elimintate this feature of auto pass wording for VM. I hope not, such a great phone till now.Any help would be appreciated. Thnks 🙂

That happens with a software upgrade. I had the 01 software on my phone and I was having problems with the voice recognition...went to Verizon and had it upgraded to 02 and VR works great. What I did was added a number as you would in your phonebook as a contact named it "mailbox" and type in my phone number not *86 but my cell# with the pause and password. So next time you want to check your voice mail just say contacts then say mailbox and the phone will dial your voice mail for you and from there you can check your VM.

I found the same problem, and agree with most of the way to solve it, EXCEPT, I'm a believer in being assertive. I'll be calling both L.G. and Verizon next week and suggest they made an oversight, requesting they revert to the successful method utilized in Software Version I.
Also, I'll ask they consider a way to set the speakerphone to remain as such when set, and to see if they can improve the screen when in bright daylight.
Other then this, I find this to be the best phone out there, re: reception, clarity, features (awesome with driving mode and voice recognition), ease of use, and design. (I've often wondered why it's ratings aren't higher with other users. Most of what I've seen complained about isn't accurate to my experi...

Well Pete if your going to call them dont forget to mention the problem with the scheduler as well. I'm sure you know what that is and I think as far as the screen I think the only fix to that is for them to put a TFT screen instead of what they have in the 4500...isn't it STN not sure. I think with the voice mail they intentionally did that to protect the users if the phone gets lost or somebody else checking your voice mail. And I'm not sure if this really works but I read somewhere that if you call your own number that counts as IN-network and I think VZW is catching up on this loop hole. And I agree with you this is a truly good phone specially with the driving mode...matter of fact I love it so much that I have another brand new phone l...

So wouold you all say my original phone was version 1 and now I have version 2?The old one I was able to program my number plus password. That was the best. I am not worried about someone listening to my VM if we atleast had the option that would be great. It is a concienence thing and as far as paying for the call Verizon should just fix the loop hole I will pay the minutes. It was so convenient especially while driving to hit one button and get mesages.

Yep...your original phone was firmware version 01 and your current phone has firmware version 02...hey ask VZW if they have a new firmware version for this phone yet...maybe that would fix the problem in 02
