I found a vendor who sells 1400 and 1600 mAh batteries for the 4500. I really would like to extend my talk time. Has anyone used a 3rd party battery? Will they damage the phone? Please advise.

Well I am using an aftermarket extended battery for my phone...I think it's a 1400mah so far I have not had any problems with it yet. I've also used aftermarket batteries for my other different phones and have not had any problems with it yet. I think just as long as you dont keep it on the charger longer than its supposed to be it will be fine. Meaning after the battery has been charged take it off the charger. I think it's the chip that they are talking about some of this aftermarket batteries dont have that IC chip to prevent overloading or overcharging the battery which could explode.

Just a quick note to add...what's nice about a extended battery is when you lay your phone down on a surface the speaker wont be covered up by the surface.

Yikes! Some of the batteries out there will explode if left on the charger? Not good!
