Headset use with VX4500

Use the headset 99% of the time with VX4500. I'm hearing complaints of poor voice quality when using headset. Remove headset and quality improves significantly. Speakerphone is good, but don't need to impress anyone by using it and I don't want everyone in the immediate vicinity to hear my phone conversation.

Got this phone for "speaker-independent voice recognition" capability so that I could finally be as close to "hands-free" as one could get, but the headset voice quality issue is creating some problems.

I have tried multiple headsets and just haven't found the right one. Can anyone make a recommendation?

Thanks

I don't know if this one is any better than the one you use. Walmart sells one with on/off button that I use. Its made by Belkin and costs about 14 bucks. It has a flexible extended silver colored boom mic. The tip of the mic is shaped like a lead bullet tip and dark grey in color. The cord is light gray. Pressing the button will end the call with phone closed. If phone is just idle and closed, pressing the button will redial the last number.

That's good news, thanks for the recommendation. Do you know if this headset has a volume control on it as well?

I have a 4400, and i found that the only headset that worked without a lot of static. (which is not there when the head set is disconected). Are the Plantronics headset, they are a little pricey buy most have a volume control, clear sound, and boom mic. Look for the plantronics 2.5mm MX150.

Look at the Belkin Website for headset model F8V920-POD. This has answer/end and volume control. It is also available at Wal*Mart for $22.00. It says that A/E works for Samsung, but it works fine on my VX4500. I like the button on the earpiece instead of the cord also.
