I Did It!

OK, after much deliberation and reading both here and at HowardForums, I made the leap and did the switch to the 4500. I haven't had enough time to play with it yet to provide a review, but so far, I'm pleased with it.

Spectar and 2fingers, is the front of yours getting scratched at all? I'm very paranoid about the front being scratched. I'm always wiping it with a tissue or even my shirt to keep it nice and shiney! 🤣

Spectar, you are right, you can't change the front LCD color for standby mode, not an option. But you can change it when it rings, etc. But you know what? The white, I think, makes it look pretty classy, so I'm not displeased with the white in standby.

I do have to get my timing right with the voice command fea...

that rebate deal..I think the rep has no idea what she is doing, I was in the store and saw them sell the 4500 dollars at 20 a piece (plus the $30 rebate) I would call CS on this one...hey, 30 bucks is thirty bucks. 😎

did you mean to say LED? like the little light in the corner of the phone or the display on the outside of the phone?
we all seem to be really getting this confused, haha

I was wrong, wrong, wrong! The display on the outside (is that LCD or LED?) cannot be changed, stays white (but looks kind of elegant with the design of the phone, so doesn't bother me too much). What changes is the little light by the antena.

Sorry for the confusion!

thanks for the response!

just for future reference -

LCD - Liquid Crystal Display (the outside screen)

LED - Light Emitting Diode (the little light by the antenna)

hope that helps...

Can you be more specific?

Do you mean change to another background or picture of the caller? If so, this phone has no camera and doesn't support picture caller id.

To change colors for an incoming call, or for an alert or a reminder:
Go to Settings (9) , Display (2), Status LED Colors (7), Incoming Calls(1) , then just chose your preferred color ("dynamic" means it keeps changing).
Enjoy your new 'rainbow'. 🙂
