Need Outlook Sync details, please

I am about to return my Motorola V710 mainly because of the Outlook sync issues it has- using Verizon software there is no calendar sync and using Mobile Phone Tools, there are a number of items that just won't import in both the phonebook and the datebook, like recurring appointments, and additional fields such as location and comments. Neither program will import Outlook Tasks, which is where I keep my lists of important stuff. Both Microsoft and Symbian smartphones do this flawlessly, but I need to be on Verizon for the coverage.

So... I am looking at the VX-4500. I see that there are a couple of software packages out there like Datapilot and FutureDial that may or may not do what I require.

Is anyone using these products with...

The best solution for the 4500 I have found so far is datapilot. It is not a true sync solution (as in what you get with a smartphone or palm), but it is adequate. www.datapilot.com

It supports calendar, tones and contacts. But the sync process between calendar and the phone is stone age. You upload your calendar, and it essentially erases all of the events in the phone and loads in the new calendar. You can merge the phone and the outlook calendar, weed out the duplicates, and then up load back (say if you created an event on your phone), and this is why it is not a real sync. So fugly, but it works.

Now if you want to stay with the 710, I have heard that Moto's sync package is much more sophisticated than the lame solution Verizon p...
