There's a lot to be critical of if you're trying to find the ultimate smartphone and you've run across the E7.

Some people don't like the 16GB of limited, internal memory, even though it is very fast. I don't know. Do we really use more than 16GB? I have a 32GB iPhone 4, and I don't have anything close to 16GB stored on it even though I have a decent music collection on it.

Some people don't like the slower processor and GPU...but people also forget that Symbian doesn't need the processing power of Windows and Android. What we need to do is find some kind of cross-platform test that just measures how long a device takes to render a complicated image or something.

As far as the menus and everyday operations go, my bet is that Symbian devices with these 680+GPU ARM processors are going to *appear* to be every bit as fast as 1GHZ devices with other operating systems. People who have been using the N8 seem to say that this is so.

I don't know. I don't think the E7 is a "fail." It's going to come down to whether or not it can be sold as a common sense business handset to people who don't want to get roped into Windows, iOS or Android. It's possible that the E7 with its marvellous keyboard can be sold so cheaply that it will be a success.

I guess we'll see, very shortly! Wink
