usa availabilty

anyone with any info on when and if this phone will be released in the usa? it looks tight, and it's a shame it ain't released here yet and even worse if motorola never plans to.thx.

hi and thx for your response. your e398 must be the european version because there is no american version as far as i know. also, it's a triband phone but the third frequency is 900 and america uses 850 mhz. i called at&t (that's who i'm with) and they said the phone will not work as well as one that has the 850 frequency since the 900 frequency is over in europe and this phone does not support the 850 mhz frequency. do you have any probelms with reception and do you know if and where i could get an american version (GSM 850 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900). I know if i get the european version (GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900) it will not work as well. thanks.

This phone does come with support for GSM 850 as I have this phone currently and am using it with Cingular/ATT in the Los Angeles area. Tmobile I believe runs on GSM 1900 so that is why he is able to use the phone also... 🙂
