ThunderBolt or Bionic?

I'm considering the subject phones for my one. With nothing but specs to go on, I lean toward the Bionic (Tegra 2 Dual-Core, etc.), but would like your thoughts on the question. 😎

i would choose the thunderbolt

one reason being is do you REALLY need a dual core proccessor that will consume your battery even more so now? i know they put in a nice big battery but if youve read reveiws on the life its not good. the thunderbolt has a nice proccessor and a great amount of ram to go with it. the kickstand on the bionic is a nice feature as well. its true the bionic has a better screen resolution but the screen is also bigger than the thunderbolts. but the htc has more internal memory for starters.and motorola didnt even put a flash on the phone! then again the bionic has htmi so it is some give and take just for someone like myself the thunderbolt does what id like it to do but for more intense users/gamers maybe theyd ...

On top of that, Android Central is claiming that the Sony Playstation Suite will be coming to Tegra devices (that's the Bionic, not the Tbolt), to include PS1 and at least some PS2 titles, plus new custom titles as well.

Honestly, I am really really torn between the two phones, each has some really strong features. Ultimately, i think it is going to come down to playing with them both in the store; which will probably mean waiting until 4G kicks off on my area. Also keep in mind that phonescoop has reported that there is a discrepancy between the spec sheet and the model they tested, and there may actually be more memory on production units. Last I heard that particular question hasn't been resolved yet.

Not to be arguminitive, but the screen on both phones is listed as 4.3" thus making Bionic significantly higher res. Also, both have microSD slots so I don't know if that issue will be the issue on which I make my decision.

Of course all is moot as neither phone is available and pricing is unknown. Thanks for the feedback.

Not to be argumentative, but you are confusing "resolution" with "dpi" or "pixel density". Resolution has nothing whatsoever to do with the screen size. I have a device with a 12" screen that has a resolution of 800x600. I also have a OG Droid, with a resolution of 480x854. If i tip it sideways, I can get most of the pixels of the 800x600 device to show on the 3" screen (resolution is effectively the same). However, the same number of pixels displays in a much smaller space, so the dpi is tons higher on my OG droid.

I don't think the resolution difference between the devices will be that significant. Android itself didn't do a very good job of supporting the higher resolution of the OG droid, especially at first, there were tons of ...

Wow! This has been very helpful, I too have had the Droid since it's release. And I'm not really sold on the Bionic, other than the px qHD!Love the T-Bolt and will be looking to see if it's as clear as my current gadget/phone!

The thunderbolt beat the bionic in gaming scores and benchmark tests... The bionic might have dual core processor but its lacking the RAM to make them worth a dam. The thunderbolts RAM is much higher than the bionic. Also I talked to the HTC re who trained us all on the phones comming out and she said they were going to go with dual core but didnt because andriod 2.2 and 2.3 doesnt work well with dual core and they went with the 2nd gen snapdragon because it worked more efficiently. only the 3.0 witch was designed for tablets worked well with dual core. btw I saw a test done that it clocked 1.9ghz not 1

Since these phones haven't officially hit the market yet, the only logical answer is to go to a VZW store play with them both when they do become available, then decide from there.
