It's supposed to be February 24th. 14 days after the iphone comes out on verizon so ppl will by one or the other and not be able to exchange the iphone bc the 2wk period will be up.

I was talking with a VZ rep yesterday and he told me Feb 24th. This is the phone I want over the iPhone. Best Buy was just announced as the official retailer the other day, too, so it's coming. VZ just wants to milk the iPhone demand before they reveal what's behind door #2. Door #3 will probably be the Bionic... 🙂

best buy will have exclusive sales for the first week of release, beginning the first week of march. vzw stores will begin selling them the second week of march. the exact date has not been released because best buy is currently waiting for htc to ship the devices. it was originally set for 2/24.

true true. i guess i worded that poorly. i was referring to the release date previous to this one. i wish HTC would get it together already because i'm dying to get this in my store and get my hands on it!!

according to best buy they are getting the phones on the 10th and verizon stores will get it a week later. the verizon rep said that the phones got pushed back due to some issue with the skype service. Obviously these reports can be taken with the biggest grain of salt given they came from just whatever high school student answered the phone @ best buy and verizon. regardless of what is the truth, the phone just needs to get here. My blackberry is on its last legs and i dont want to spend $50 on an insurance replacement phone when this phone is so close to coming out.

It might not be a bad idea that you pay the 50 bucks and get the replacement phone and sell it for 100 or 150 in real good shape. I am waiting for the release of this phone too. Hope it comes out soon

Hopefully it will be released next week. I was reading that the reason for the delays is because of the Skype and the battery. Who knows? Been waiting long enough! I put my deposit down at best buy. I hope this phone is good as the Evo.

I was in VZW retail store the other day and the salesman told me tBolt was scheduled for avail 2/24 but has been delayed due to software issues. He said they wanted to ensure a successful launch of the 4G phones. He hinted that the release timing will be fairly close to the Bionic now, which was not expected anytime soon. Looks like we may be waiting a couple more months for this phone to be avail.
He also mentioned those of us sitting on our NE2 $100 credit that it will expire around July 10th and no longer be usable. With this, my guess is iPhone 5 will be avail the week after that.

I'd verify for sure the thing about the NE2. I know they aren't offering NE2 on NEW contracts, but that has been going on since like Feb 10. *your NE2 credit is part of your contract* so they can't just arbitrarily decide to not give it to you. That's one of the reasons for NEW contracts they won't be offering it anymore; but like I said, that applies to NEW contracts, not to your existing contract.
I won't even have an NE2 until after July, so if they make it go away, I'll be free to cancel my contract...they aren't going to do that.
