What do you guys think about the Thunderbolt not having a dual-core processor. Does the phone need it or will it be fine?

I currently own what I think is the Thunderbolt's twin, that namely HTC's Evo 4G with the 1GHz Snapdragon processor and if I must say so myself, I think it's awesome. Very, very fast unlike some of HTC's competitors. In my book, HTC's Thunderbolt gets 4.5 stars based on my experience with the Evo 4G. I would have given it 5 stars, but HTC decided to do away with the HDMI output and replaced it with DLNA. But despite that drawback, I think it's a great phone. Besides, a dual-core processor phone would probably kill your battery faster then you would like. Just my two cents!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for your help! I am either going to get the HTC Thunderbolt or the Motorola Droid Bionic but I love HTC Sense and I don't really like the NinjaBlur/hidden MotoBlur on the Bionic. The only other thing that I was worried about was the screen resolution. I really want a good screen and the Bionic has a qHD screen, so I still need to think about that. And then I was also worried about the 1GHZ processor becoming obsolete and I just don't want to buy a phone with outdated hardware.

I'd definitely do the research before deciding upon which device to procure. I personally have worked with both Motorola and HTC and so far I'm more inclined to get HTC's line of products. And just as the Evo 4G was with Sprint, I believe the Thunderbolt is going to be among one of the top phones when released to the public from Verizon Wireless.

There is a new rumor stating that it will be a Best Buy exclusive and it will come out as soon as late February along with the unnamed Samsung 4G LTE device.

I'm an authorized VZW dealer. So far no release date given but to smash the rumors -- the Thunderbolt WILL NOT be exclusive to Best Buy stores only :-)

The rumor is Feb 28th is what I read somewhere...but who knows. That would make me laugh considering everyone is all iphone crazy right now... and then the thunderbolt comes out right after that to crush that POS

This is the processor you want due to it having the necessary hardware for netflix which debuted at MWC in Spain demoing the netflix app on an LG Revolution. I'm confused however due to PhoneScoop here saying it will have a QSD 8655 Snapdragon when it should be an MSM 8655 as seen on other websites. The QSD 8655 is currently on HTC Incredible. I really doubt they would keep the same processor from a 3G device to something that will hopefully one day do VoIP calls and allow web browing while on a call. Anyone got any info on wether it will be an MSM 8650?

"Qualcomm® MSM8655, 1GHz, Qualcomm MDM9600" that is what the HTC website says.
