I'm Assuming?

I'm assuming if one can get the gsm side of this phone unlocked, it will work on AT&T and with their 3g?

Because they don't use slow evdo-a, and you can talk and data at the sametime.

Well, quite frankly, I'd rather have a slow connection that works all the time, than a fast connection that only works if I'm standing in the right place.

EVDO RevA is way faster than edge, and out in my neck of the woods, folks on AT&T are sometimes lucky to get Edge. When they DO get a 3G connection, it isn't any faster than my EVDO, which is faster in most cases than my home DSL.

And I know from experience that it isn't "just" in my neck of the woods that AT&T has connection issues. "More bars in more places" is pretty easy to accomplish when you have 0 bars in most places (and in any case, its a software tweak away).

If you live in the areas that AT&T DOES have good 3G coverage, then yeah, it's fast. But for most of us, while...
