Aldcon... you are killing me!

As fincher said, you are about the only person on the planet who still says that Verizon will make this available to us. 😢

How confident are you? I mean is this like 100%? And is this based on your opinion from what you see on the inside, or do you know something that virually no one else does? I know it's sketchy for you to give too many details, but please give me something to hang on to so I don't kill myself trying to get one from another avenue.

And of course if you are positive, there is the even more important question of: WHEN? 🙂

This is pure BS. Next mid-market phones for VZW will be the v260/v265 which are nearly out of the testing phase.

Sorry folks, the 810 will never see the light on VZW.

This is true. Aldcon. I'll go easy on you. I'll take a case of Coors Light...bottles or cans.

Is the V260 coming to Verizon? If so, when? Phone Scoop says that it is going to US Cell. I have not been able to get any other info on it....

Aldcon, I can put the beer you owe me on hold, too. 🙂

goatass, the v810 is a decent phone. It's not supposed to be the v710 and never was considered to be more than a mid-tier phone. Comparing the two is pointless as each is targeted to different types of users, each with different feature-sets. And, I can tell you firsthand, the build-quality of the v810 is superior to the v710.

This phone can be purchased on Motorola's site for around 325$. I'm wondering if one were to pruchase this phone, which they say is for use on USC's network, could it be activated on Verizon's network by just calling and asking for the phone to be activated?

😁 Ok, check this out guys.... I got my call from my motorola contact... "the phone is scheduled to be released for the Verizon Wireless branded, at this time there is no due date to when....

I am saying it again guys, Verizon does not want to put the v710 out of the spotlight, and with the 9900 and the 8910 coming this month that does put the pressure on Motorola. Remember, Motorola currently, at the corporate stores, only has one model of phone besides the v60p.

Soak it in guys,

To be honest, this chain of logic makes no sense. So, I don't buy the taking the spotlight off the 710 argument. The 710 is not at all competitive with the 810. Thats like saying the Honda is competitive with Rolls Royc...

kenstee, I would agree. Verizon's decision is based on marketing for the most part. The phone passed Verizon's testing, and did so several months back. It might even being the cost to carry the v810 compared to carrying a similar model from LG or Samsung.

The v810 is a darn good phone for what it is. I've heard that Verizon didn't know where it would fit into its lineup at this point. If the phone was ready 7 months ago, Verizon would have had it on the shelves. And, yes, the v265 will be out for Verizon.

Does your reference to the v265 suggest that it is similar to the v810? I would see the v265 as a down graded v710. It's almost as big and heavy as the V710 and the size and weight are the reasons I returned the v710 I had; it's a feature rich phone but it was like carrying a brick around in my pocket and more so when I had it in its carrying case.

Regrettably that option is not viable since USC does not provide coverage in my home area nor in the areas I wander in general.

The v265 is not a bad phone, but its not a v810, though it is likely to be the "replacement" for the v810 on Verizon. I've held one and its better than I thought and has a ambient light sensor for the keypad. The screen is a little bigger than the v60 Series, which I think is the most disappointing aspect of the phone. The v265 is not a brick but its not a good pocket phone, either.

So far, the best aspects of the v810 are the large internal display, speakerphone (works great for me), size & weight, and a great OEM swivel holster. Plus, its a striking design.

The negatives are WAP 2.0 -- buggy and slow; Smart Key does not function as a shortcut to send DTMF tones such a PIN numbers (part of the StarTAC and v60 phones) but does the othe...

great info, Fincher. Do you have an opinion on the earpiece volume on the V265?.. Really hoping for a decent mid-level Motorola at Verizon soon, but earpiece volume is a big issue with me, and Motorola often misses on that mark on volume. Also, any ideas on a month the V265 might be in stores?

I did not have time to test that aspect, but I have heard the earpiece volume on the v265 is very good and similar to the StarTAC/Timeport models.

I have no idea when it will come out, but I will wager it will be in time for the holidays. In fact, I'll double-down. 😁
