Let me give you a few facts on the v810. In the states (Verizon network) the phone will NOT be released in June. It is NOT built upon the 720/730 technology. You CAN hide the main menu buttons. It is a Trimode phone. Sound quality is good. Standard ring tones suck. All EMS standard ring tones play at a low volume. Housing is made of plastic, but not cheap feeling like the 720. Has a scrolling outer display like the LG 6000. Built in flash works better than most others. Two main differences between the 710 and 810 is size and the 710 has video capability. Signal strength is good. Standby battery life is adequate. You can open the flip while the unit is still in it's holster. Motorola finally got with the times and provided a user friendly dat...

FKNA,
Thanks for the info. Appreciate the insight.
When you say it will not be released in June - how much longer do you guess it will be?
If it's going to be too much longer, I might give up on this phone. It's novelty is wearing off by the day now. Shame. 😕
Thanks again

I don't know for sure, can only speculate based on past history. Once a unit enters into the last testing phase, it normally ends up on the shelf 30 to 60 days later. Mind you, I have seen them hit the shelf as soon as two weeks after entering into the last testing phase. But that's not the norm. My best guess would be either the very last week of June or sometime in July.

And considering what camera phones are currently being offered by Verizon, it would be worth the wait.

End of June for the v710

Forget the v810 it sucks and won't be worth buying once the v710 is out. Check out the movie they made for the v710 on the motorola website. Motorola won't even advertise on the v810 and is spending all their time advertising the v710.

The v810 sucks?????....That's like saying the Maranello sucks because Ferrari came out with the Scaglietti.

I have used the phone and I don't like it. I don't see the point in getting it since the v710 works so much better and has so many more options. Once you buy the v810 your going to want to jump on board with the v710.
Thats my opinion. The v810 won't be out before the V710 anyways. So I don't see the point in waiting longer for it.

I'll be the first to admit that the v710 definitely has more bells and whistles. With that, you get a heftier price tag.

I'm curious though, how are you in the know that the v710 will be released before the v810?

LOL.....must be someone in marketing.

So true, launch date for both phones is the last week of June. But they still need to pass field testing. Keeping fingers crossed, testing is going good so far

I'm fully aware of all the v710's features, in comparison to the 810. The only feature the 710 has that I'm interested in, is BT. I don't need video capabilities, I don't need a camera at all!
So I might simply buy the smaller phone, and get the BT adapter.
It has nothing to do with money - I can afford to buy whatever phone I want. I just prefer the smallest phone possible that has the features I want. Thanks for your opin...
