v810 Question

Just wondering when this phone was actually supposed to be released. From visiting Motorola's website for the past couple of months it appeared to me that the v710 came out of nowhere and is now the hot phone to get. There must be some serious bugs on the v810. To me, the only thing it has going for it, compared to the v710, is its size.

it was supposed to b released last nov, then xmas then early this year and now Moto says "perhaps august". Personally I think this phone is such a dud, that they may cut their losses and never release it.

The field testers for the V810 had some weird complaints, the most famous of which was that the extended antenna interfered with taking a picture.

I don't think there's anything wrong in particular w/the phone, and I am still struggling with the decision whether to buy a V810 or V710.

To many of us, the 810's smaller size is worth the reduced feature set. 🙂

George, I'm with you with the decision. I loved my v60 then decided to change it to a t730 because I'm a dumbass and change phones every year. I really hate the size and the feel of this thing. It reminds me of the first colored Sanyo phone and I had a lot of bad memories with that. I think I'm going to get the v710 though and use the 2 week trial period to see if I do actually like it. If not then the v810 will be the choice.

At this stage of the game, if the V810 has any remaining issues related to the camera, Motorola should consider scrapping the camera feature altogether. With camera phones being banned in more and more places, this feature isn't that attractive to many. I personally still want the V810 but could give a damn about the camera.

I visited a Verizon store this past weekend and the guy there told me the V810 should be out in a few weeks. When I gave him the "yeah right!" look he was like "I promise", at that point, I gave him the "whatever!" look. He did compare the size of the V810 to that of my A530 but said that the shape was a little different. Oh well, the wait continues. Hang in there folks!
