I currently have the palm pre plus but I'm do for an upgrade and I'm following the iphone, evo, motorola droid(s) closely.

Despite certain superior features i.e. 8 mp cameras, I can't see the benefit to any of these. I don't care what anyone says The X, Evo and droid 2 are ridiculously large. Sorry but I misplaced my FUBU jeans. You cant walk around with a freaking tablet pc if you plan on doing anything outdoors. I mean you would literally need a backpack for the Droid X. Don't suggest a belt clip to me and if you do then you just discovered why you aren't getting laid.

Specifically, I want to like Droid to avoid any Iphone envy I have (assuming it comes to Verizon; by the way ATT is a total joke) but I don't find the OS to be ...

Very Happy Now that's funny, but I'm in agreement with many of the questions.

And I'll add one: how well does the Droid platform, work for those of us who actually work for a living?

Specifically as in Exchange support, without having to use some GCalendar sync workaround for your appointments?

I can tell you easily what Android offers that
WebOs does not.

A FUTURE....
WebOs exists only on the phones its currently on, and nobody is putting out any flagship hardware with that OS on it anymore.

Which is all a shame, but they had extensive hardware problems on the Pre, and took 1 year too long to get it to market.
And lets face it, nobody wants a Pixi.

Android on the other hand suffers a lot from fragmentation right now.
Motorola overlays BLUR on their devices
and HTC overlays SENSE on their devices.

Giving users a different experience, when they all believe they bought an Android phone.
They did, but they each get a different interface.

Supposedly Gingerbread is going to remedy all that and everyone running an...

You got that right. webOS is dead. The ball is in Google's court right now. Up to them to bring it home with Gingerbread. Android has been rough around the edges but they got the former Palm guy on board with them now. It looks promising.

Far as Windows Mobile 7. No way in hell it's gonna make any kind of dent into iPhone. Apple has nothing to worry about. Their sheep are very devoted. Crackberry's fanbase seems to be taking a hit. They gotta be careful right now. They still don't...

I watched a video of a reviewer fitting a Dell Streak in his front jeans pocket. If he can do that, you can fit a Droid 2 in your pocket with ease...no Fubu jeans needed. These phones aren't as big as they seem online.

Muchdrama-Yes, I've used my super fast transporter to leave the online world to see the phones out in the wild where other humans roam and I held them all. And they all felt big except for the Droid 2. I can fit a lot of things in my pocket but it doesn't mean they belong there.

Johnjumboballs2003-Nice write up dude. I understand that web os is obselete but I'm trying to come to grips with its death. I'm not loyal to Palm or any other phone/os it just happens to work well. Your point on the bberry is well taken because I carry one for work. So if bberry would make a phone that kicked butt like the evo, in a form factor that was slighty smaller, with a battery that lasted more than ten minutes I'd be content. Until such time I'll have t...

Can you send me the specs for that super-fast transporter?

I can choose any boring bberry to type on but I need a sexy beast to play with while I watch my wife eat couscous. The ipad is doing the trick for now...

Now we know why they call you dirty jerzy.

Good call on the belt clip too.

I was on the "too big " bandwagon too. I even have several comments on this site saying that. I gave the X a try knowing I had the 30 day return policy and now I'm a believer. The large screen size is amazing,as a matter of fact,my friend has the incredible and it feels like a toy next to my X. I'm spoiled, there's no way i could go down to a smaller screen and you quickly get used to the physical size of the phone. Give it a try.

I'm not convinced "sexy" is an attribute I would use to describe ANY OS on ANY phone.

from a pure style perspective, nobody is likely to ever touch the iphone. However, I would far prefer a phone that works to a stylish phone, and that's what I have found in the Droid. it isn't sexy, but it just plain works. And if you consider for a moment what we are actually using it for, it is absolutely amazing. It is possible to run Windows on a DOS emulator on the Droid. Now, why anybody would want to do this, I'm not sure, but the stark reality is that who would have thought, 10 years ago, that we would even be entertaining the discussion of whether or not you want to?

Having said that, the biggest advantage any of the Android phones have ...
