Any User Experience the G4050?

The G4050 has caught my eye but how is the RF side of things? Any user experience yet? I saw a dummy today and near the antenna there looks like a small plugged hole? Is this an external antenna connection point? Looks too small to me. Andy

I'm using the G4050 now, I've had it now for about four days and the RF is decent. It's about has good as an average nokia, 6800 or 6200.

I'm pretty sure that you have the phone on CINGULAR, that means you can buy them at www.cingular.com, or maybe the Cingular store in your Area, or maybe a local wireless dealer, its a good chance, also, that they have accessories where you bought the phone

Have had the G4050 for about a month, now. Phone's okay, not really worth what I paid for it, as the support is TOTALLY not existant, from either LG or Cingular (and I work for them!). To be fair, the support as far as _talking_ on the phone is as good as Cingular's ever is 😛 but if you go beyond that, very few people know about this phone, including LG's customer support line. An actual quote from LG: "We don't support the phone, we just fix them if they are broke."

Accessories are VERY NOT THERE. I keep getting "real soon now" and "check back next month" and the like.

Other than that, the phone works pretty good. There does seem to be a problem using a headset that I have not solved yet, but I'm working on it.

No, the small pluged hole covers up a screw, at least according to the tech I talked to the other day.

I've had the phone for over a month, and once they got the internal Cell Tower List update out to my phone properly, it is working pretty well. (IRDB Update or CARD Push in Cingular-speak) For about 2 weeks, it would switch to Cingular-Extend for the whole weekend -- making me have to pay roaming fees. VERY annoying. (It's an idiosyncracy of my employee plan -- most people needn't worry about WHAT the display says ...)

Downloading ringers & graphics is not as slick as it should be -- you get to a certain point, and then you go "what next?" All you see is a blank white screen with a tiny arrow on it.

(Hint: press "MENU" and...
