Do I get an Iphone 4 or do I get an HTC Evo 4g?
Give me honest opinions. I use my phone a lot. Mostly for social networking and texting. i have a lot of apps on my iphone that I love like IMDB and FML but most of what I use it available on Android as well. I know about the price difference, but Ive been paying for ATT for years so it wont be a big deal to continue. Anyway, let me know what you think.
I posted this in the Evo forums too just to be fair.
1) Battery life!!! (how long can you go between charges without turning all the features off)
2) Screen resolution
3) Camera- megapixels not as high, but takes pictures better in different light levels and much quicker.
3) HD video- records video better than any other hd capable phone
4) Gaming- reviewer stated it rivals PSP and Nintendo DS
5) Ease of use
6) Internet page loading- said its faster than any other smartphone. He also said he was surprised 3g could go that fast.

The only real advantages the iPhone has over the EVO is it's amazing camera, it's amazing screen resolution, and a smoother touch interface. I would aslo call the build quality an advantage since the iPhone is crazy well built.
The advantages the EVO 4G can claim are faster real world function, bigger screen, better social networking, Flash support, more customization, better browser (IMHO), and a better network.

From phonescoop's review of the iphone 4:
"Data was another story entirely. It was blazing fast and, so far, very reliable. Apple has clearly concocted some new magic to make this one of the fastest - if not the fastest web browsing phones on the market. Again. I really had no idea AT&T's 3G network could send me web pages over the ether so fast; apparently all it needed was the right phone on the receiving end. A new standard had been set."
"A new standard had been set."
By the way, I am not saying you are wrong. I am asking for sources to prove your point.
All you have to do is look up any speed test on the net and you will see the EVO winning the vast majority of the time (both on WiFi and on 3G).
Your own personal lack of research (or lack of desire to find the truth) does not relieve you of the burden of proving your claims. Especially when you give no evidence byond vaguely written statements taken out of context from an online review.
First comparison I pulled up...iphone 4 wins.

I could only find a few other videos. In one, the EVO loaded a web page faster by less than a second. The other, the iphone 4 loaded 4 times faster than the EVO on 3g and about the same as the EVO on 4g. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpjfxQqsb-Y)
You said all I have to do is look up "any" speed test on the net and I would see the EVO winning the vast majority of th...

Internet Browsing: Winner is EVO. Mobile Safari is great but it is well documented that it has no flash support so popular sites like ESPN will NOT even show on your phone. You will be stuck viewing the WAP version. EVO however has some flash support on board when you first purchase the device. As well as access to the best mobile browser available (IMO) with Skyfire which has the ability to play ALL desktop content on your mobile phone.
Customization: Winner is EVO. You can simply do more in terms of curtailing the phone to your liking. Don't like the home screen, ch...
