Apple iPhone 4 (GSM)
Androids coming to AT&T and iPhone 4
You'd have to naturally assume that Apple had some sort of agreement that AT&T couldn't carry any potential competitive phones while iPhone was carried. If that were the case Apple would have to let AT&T start negotiating deals to carry competitors once the contract came to an end.
I love iPhone AT&T and have no problems like the rest of their horrible remarks from customers who port to new providers.
If anything it'd be nice to be able to use Facetime with people regardless of their network.
So if iPhone goes across carriers in the U.S., We'd be able to video phone almost anyone as opposed to only people with AT&T.
nobody but at&t and apple know the terms of the exclusivity agreement.
It could very well just be as simple as AT&T willing to pay any price to keep apple's favor.
Fact is: We wont know until it's said and done, and posts like these are kinda pointless, ya know?
AT&T has already released the Motorola Backflip and HTC Aria, and Google has the N1 that was made for the AT&T network.
The next Android phones to enter the AT&T areane are, and in no specific release order:
1) Dell Aero
2) Samsung Captivate
3) LG Aloha
4) Dell Streak 5
That is 7 Android phones made for the AT&T network, and that is just this years release. No provider offers more choices of smartphone/PDA than AT&T. Although we all know At&T has some major issues, they offer so many pros compared to cons that is why customers keep company.
