I think what he meant with his post is that the guy thought, like many other people out there, his new iphone4 is 4g as in speed/technology and failed to understand its simply iphone 4 as in 4th generation.
I work for att small business and I have to explain to customers everyday that its iphone4 not 4g. 🙄
