couple options. the "easiest" is to find out if the store near you has a Cellbrite machine. they can transfer contacts for you. there might be a cost associated with this though, depending on that stores policies.

If you know how to, the next way is to sync your contacts with your gmail address. (if you dont have one yet, get a gmail account now, it's a lot easier than setting up in store)
Here is a link I found on how to do it:

Most Verizon stores will have a Cellebrite machine to transfer contacts. So it should not be an issue. 😁

actually depending on where he lives, the stores might not have cellbrite machines. they're doing away with them in corp stores.

Good luck with your jumping ship. I tried the first Droid in January of this year and could only last 2 weeks with it and went back to my iphone 3G. No improved signal with Verizon, UI on the Droid was horrendous, and all the apps were pretty much just retarded versions of the iphone apps. Now I have the iphone 4 and no probs whatsoever. Good luck with Android. You'll be walking around rubbing 2 sticks together while I got a zippo.

That's your personal opinion. I know quite a few people who came from the iphone and like android quite a bit more.

Android apps retarded versions of iphone apps? really? Not only is that patently false, but since you had your phone, over 70k apps were added to the market and the device itself had a software upgrade.

enjoy your iphone4, its a pretty neat device. But that doesn't mean it's for everyone or that everyone has to consider it superior.

Yes, thats my personal opinion and also seems to be the opinion of every reviewer of the android system since it came out. I"m glad its around, gives us more choices. But you can't argue the facts,,,iphone is clearly the leader and android is the follower, period, end of story. I haven't met one person yet who owns an android phone that came from an iphone so we differ there. Like I said, I had an iphone, switched to the Droid, and found it incredibly lacking. Not user friendly in the least, apps were poor copycat attempts at copying iphone apps, did not have an improved signal with verizon yadda yadda yadda. How is it patently false by saying that android apps are retarded versions of iphone apps? Iphone started this shiZ and continu...

Actually it's not. Android is activating 160,000 new handsets a day. This means that in that in the first 22 days of the iphones launch, the android device sold MORE units. So there is no "clear winner"

And look at what the iphone4 update did:
-Higher Res screen
-Higher mp camera, with a flash
-multi-tasking

Three of the main talking points of the Droid Does Campaign. Who is following whom?

You're entitled to your opinion, but don't go spouting it around as fact like it's the only one that exists. There's a growing number of reviewers and bloggers who agree with my position as well. You might ignore them, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

You can't only accept reviews from people who had an iphone, and switched to the droid, either, although I do happen to know several people in that category.

What about those that had the option of the iphone, but rejected it after trying it, or after demoing it? I'm in that category. I didn't "come from an iphone" because, quite frankly, I thought the iphone sucked from day 1.

Now, those who DID in fact choose an iphone, probably did so for some very specific reasons. And if those reasons continue to hold true, then there is certainly nothing WRONG with an iphone, but don't automatically assume that the iphone is superior *for everyone*. In fact, I'm more surprised when I do hear about iphone->android switching, BECAUSE of the f...

I came from an iPhone and Blackberries.

I can't knock a Blackberry besides to say they need to modernize the OS a bit. Maybe OS 6 will address all that. They have the best "phone" part. Signal and battery life are unreal on a Blackberry.

As for Android the "phone" itself works. You know the phone part, making calls, yeah iPhone would drop calls where any other AT&T phone I used had a full signal.

I really believe that alot people get the iPhone because it's popular, not because it is a usable "phone".

Yes I understand why people like it, but why hasn't Apple fixed the reception issue????

It has existed since the first iPhone and still hasn't been corrected.

As far as apps Android has about anything that the iPhone doe...

"As far as apps Android has about anything that the iPhone does or it soon will."

Wrong. Everything I see on the internet states iphone app store 225,000 apps, android 65,000. Just like homeboy a few posts earlier who stated they've added 70,000 apps since I had my droid in January..guess they were at minus 10,000 apps when I had it.

As for people who's iphone "phone" part is not working, I have an easy solution. Ditch it and get a different phone. We all have choices. I choose to have a killer iphone with slightly crappy signal rather than a wanna be iphone with a similar crappy signal and a horrible user interface and 160,000 less apps.

Android market has over 100k apps. 70k are in the US.

And we're not talking NUMBERS here, we're talking functionality of the app. if you do something on your iphone, unless it's a specific game, chances are good you can find a comparable app on Android. That's what he's talking about.

BlueCoyote has the apple fanboy market cornered. Go back to your hole. This is a DROIDX forum, so if you have no interest in the phone, you have no reason to post here.

let me help you on this, first apple as a company has been around for um decades, their app world has been around for at least 10 years. as of 2 years ago android came online (from a company that does online searches)(not an actual company that makes computers). next less then a year ago there was less than 10k apps when the original Droid dropped. now there is over 70k apps. next the the android market place is out pacing the apple market place 4 to 1 in new apps. next when the droid and sequential android phones all had cameras, external batteries, ability to do mms (now apple as of earlier this year was able to do this) but let me help you here on the ip4 vs dx. stats u ready buddy cause you might want to get a diaper cause your going ...

I have had the iphone 2G, 3G and switched to the HTC Incredible. I find the ability to use it as a phone and not an iPod. ATT stunk so bad it was not a very reliable phone.

Verizon and the Incredible are just that Incredible....And unlike the iPhone the apps for the Incredible are free and many far superior.
