Hey Guys,

So, I called Verizon everyday to find out about ordering the Droid X. Finally, on July 3rd one of the CSRs allowed me to place the order for my droid X over the phone with her. Now, my X is being shipped and will be here by the 8th!!! Whenever I called back to track my X, the people at Verizon couldn't believe that I was able to order it and that it got shipped. Call Verizon and tell the representative that you want them to order it for you. They do have the ability to place the order. Once it's placed, it will ship with in 2 days! Try it!

Boy, you'r lucky I have called once a day the past 3 or 4 days and every time I'm told they can't do anything until the 15th. And I'm even willing to pay full retail price of 570.

Tried to preorder the X again today and was told I couldn't except through bestbuy. I begain to get more than a little frustrated and told her how there are already getting their phone in the mail. She wanted to know the number of somebody that has already received the X. It bugs the heck out of me that I know more about their products than they do. 😈

I just called up Verizon and got the nicest rep. She tried everything possible and no luck.

She also confirmed that my final cost will be $99. $299 less $100 instant rebate and less $100 new every two year discount. I'll be placing my order online on the 15th.

yeah I tried again tonight when I got home and go an awesome rep but there was no getting one ordered said wait till the 15th. he didnt think that i would quailify for the discount since all i have is an annual upgrade coming in november. he did suggest instead of paying retail of 570 that i just add a line for 9 a month and get the x on that line then buy that like out for 135 which is what my current lines termination fee is. i looked on ebay and saw that the droid x is going for upwards of almost 700.00 i dont know why people would pay 700+ for something they could buy themselves for 570.00

gbpanther, they've been advertising that if you are due to upgrade anytime this year, you can upgrade and get the discounts. You have to be due sometime between now and Dec. 31st. If you're due in November then you can upgrade now.

yes, when you re-sign your next NE2 will be a max of $50 (you won't lose your NE2100 rebate unless you do something to your account)

The reason this is is because the MAX they used to discount phones is 120. the droid x is discounted over $375 off retail before NE2 is taken into effect.

Phones are discounted more up front, so the 100 credit is now a bit too high.

Just read on Phandroid that Verizon says it was a computer glitch that allowed a few people to order and receive the Droid X early, but now they have that fixed. So we have to wait until the 15th.
