Is Incredible worth the battery headaches?

I did things a bit backwards, ordered the phone yesterday and THEN paid attention to this forum 🙄

From looking over the forum, two things are clear:
1. Battery lige is CLEARLY the biggest drawback to the incredible
2. Menno answers an awful lot of posts 😁

So, two questions:
- Is the incredible worth putting up with the battery? Staring at low battery all the time seems to take the fun out of it? If I charge nightly and during my long-ish commute, will I be okay?

- I often go camping from Fri eve till Sunday - no charging source available. Will the battery make it that long if I use Incredible as "just a phone" (assuming I can shut down e-mail, etc)?

It is worth it. abso-freakin-lutely! I will however suggest ordering an extended battery and following the reccomendations on this and other forums on how to extend the batterys life, there's lots out there. And leave my man Menno alone!

The simple, fail-safe solution is to carry a spare battery, but you shouldn't need it if just using the phone features and you surely won't need it if you keep it off until you need to check v/m or make a call. If you have reception, then you are probably not too far from your car; if you do real off-track camping, a cell phone is useless. I spend 30-40 mins per day talking plus the odd news reading/web searching for 30-40 minutes and I turn it off at night. I charge every other day and keep only the Bluetooth active all the time. You can't NOT love this phone, despite its few drawbacks.
