If you want it that badly. Sell the Droid on eBay. You'll have to buy the Incredible at full price though but the costs from the Droid sell should help a bit.

If you're within 14 days just return the Driod and get the Incredible when it comes out.

Actually, some states (like California) allow 30 days to return your newly purchased device. Check your receipt.
Not sure if you currently own the Droid Eris or Motorola Droid...but, the Incredible will likely out-perform the Moto Droid, and should totally slam the Droid Eris. If it were me...I'd go back and get the Incredible. 😎

Gizmodo gave a review of the Incredible worth reading.

Nobody can make that decision for you. Will you NEED a physical keyboard? Stick with Droid. Want a better camera? Go for HTC. Does Sense drive you crazy? Stay with Droid. The build quality of the Moto is fantastic. But I own an Eris, and I happen to be a fan of HTC. You also don't have a performance record on the Incredible yet. I'm sure it will be fine, but there could be glitches. You just don't know. You will NEVER always have the latest and greatest, unless you like to drop big bucks every time a phone launches! Will you be slapping yourself IF the almightly Iphone hits Verizon later this year? Decisions, decisions...

Hey mellowlen62 are you keeping your Eris, or upgrading?? I'd be happy with my Eris if they gave me the update. I'm pissed!!

I am keeping my Eris. It is getting exhausting trying to stay on top of the ever-changing technology. I must say I LOVE the Eris. For me, it does what I need. I would prefer the better camera (and flash) on the Incredible, but of course I have a digital camera. And the upgrade to 2.1 would be nice for the turn-by-turn directions, but honestly Google Maps is just fine - certainly usable. I am annoyed like you about the delay and I hope the upgrade materializes. I'm a fan of HTC and Sense, which is why I chose this over the Droid.

I took my son to the Verizon store 2 days ago to fix his Storm and they had an Incredible there that the employees were testing out.
They got the name right, it is INCREDIBLE...the 1gz processor is freaking amazing, everything moves lightning quick when you touch the screen...sick!!
Its a Droid on Steroids...I would definitely take it over a droid or Eris...trust me when you see it in the store, you will fall in love. I am waiting for the Iphone too because I always thought it is the best phone in the world, but I gotta be honest this phone is gonna give it a run for its money. It's faster, a Incredible camera and its a Droid.I'm psyched.

These are all great ideas and thanks for everyones input. Ive got until may 1st to decide if i'll trade the Droid(not eris)for the HTC. I just hope to get to play with it in the store so i can compare them. I like the UI of my droid but it seems buggy, not as polished as my iphone.it seems to be always loading the pics when i go to the gallery, the icons flash on and off when i go to landscape mode, little things like that worry me.I also got spoiled with the apple when it comes to syncing media. What sells me on the droid is its vibrant and sharp screen. Anyway,im anxious to get a chance to experience the Incredible as soon as possible.

Dean,
You will be amazed at the Incredible. Side by side with my iPhone 3GS and (for me...personal opinion)...it is the FIRST phone that has given me a glimmer of hope. I can usually tell, within the first hour of playing with a device at the local store, if there is potential for the device to make me want to pry the iPhone out of my hand and finally say a big F-OFF to ATT.

Unequivocably I can say...the Incredible gave me that "tingle" within the first 10 minutes!

Everything was as smooth and efforless as the iPhone......I likely will not wait to even see the new version of the iPhone..only because there is one thing Apple cannot change/improve....ATT!

I was in a VZW store in Virginia, near Norfolk. I was killing time, looking at the Droid but hoping they had any sort of mockup of the Incredible. I made it clear I was desperate to find not one, not two...but three replacements for iPhones (it is my account...if I go, they go....or pay their one way). There happened to be a gentleman in a nice suit...they were huddled around him, I heard the word "Incredible"...so I kinda invited myself into the convo. It was offered up to have a look...I was very appreciative and humbled. Not sure how "production ready" it was, it was engraved so I assumed it was not a retail version. I didn't care...I wanted it on the spot.

If you're still under your 30 days, then you can exchange it.

The Droid, being stock android means that it "should" get updates faster, it will have a more robust development community, so if you are interested in rooting/hacking your phone, stock android is the way to go.

I have the droid, and I love it. I still love it after seeing the incredible. would I take an incredible if offered? maybe.. but I like rooting my devices too much to give it up just yet.

Buying android right now is like buying a computer in the 90's. you get a great device, but there is ALWAYS something better around the corner.

Menno you are so right, theres always something better coming down the road. Another problem i have is that i bought my droid from lets talk.com cos it was only $19.99 vs. $199 at verizon. I can return it to them but they arent goig to be getting the incredible anytime soon,at least not within my 30 day return period. So that means canceling and then reopening another account. There must be an easier way

Letstalk is evil when it comes to changing your mind, which is one of the reasons they can be so cheap. Sadly there is very little you can do unless you talk to letstalk and they allow you activate a used verizon phone (you'll have to find it) until they can ship you an incredible.

How long have you had it? I work for Big Red and you have 30 days.

The difference with those two phones is the Incredible runs off the 2.1 ANDROID OS where as the DROID runs off the 2.0. Additionally the DROID has a 5.0 mega pixel camera and the Incredible has a 8.0 mega pixel camera. The Incredible is a full touch screen device vs the DROID that has a full qwerty slide out keyboard and a touch screen, both of the displays have the same 3.7 inch screen. The DROID runs fast however the incredible is faster with the 1GHZ snapdragon processor. Lastly the Incredible holds 8GB of memory and is lighter than the DROID weighing 4.6 oz to the DROIDs 5.99 oz.

The Droid is now on 2.1. if it doesn't ship with it, it will update within minutes of activating the phone.
