Is the battery really THAT bad?

I'm 3 months from my next phone. Unless something else phenomenal is released by then, I'll probably get an Incredible. I like what I'm reading for the most part, but it sounds like the battery really sucks. I remember my first cell phones in the late 80's and early 90's. They were big, clunky analog phones with a ni-cad battery. You were almost afraid to use it because the battery wouldn't make it through an entire day. I hated that. I was so thrilled when they came out with lithium ion batteries which would go multiple days between charges. I know, I know...these new smart phones do WAY more and it all uses power. There are many battery saving tips on this and other related forums that you should definitely research. I bought a seidio 1750mah extended and im fine with it. I am always tinkering with my Incredible and i easily get a whole day out of the phone. Then again 3 months is a long time in the world of cell phones, you never know what will be out by then.Personally i dont want the droid x cause in my opinion its just too big, same goes for the evo. But i hear there are a few more goodies coming out, even one with a 1.5 processor. Its hard to keep up. Good luck

Thanks. Yeah, 3 months is a long time. I fully expect at least one more option by then. From the looks of the back orders, if I want an incredible I better order it now! 😳

The battery is not as bad as some might ay but it is pretty bad. Dean is right, there are some ways to extend the battery's life, but you seem like someone that just wants to use your phone w/o having to tinker with it to make it work the way its supposed to work. I'd suggest getting the Sedio or else you may find yourself back in the nic-cad days!
