Dumb question I know, and I think I know the answer but figured I'd ask...Can you talk and browse at the same time?

Only if your browsing is done through a WiFi connection. Simultaneous, 3G/4G voice & data won't be available, or even be able to co-exist with each other until Verizon's LTE network deployment reaches your area. An estimated 25 to 30 markets in 2010, covering approximately 100M people is the goal. By 2013, Verizon hopes to cover its current 3G footprint.

I gotcha...I live in the Boston area and the site you linked to at Verizon Wireless's site doesnt list when/where the LTE will be started

I haven't come anyone who has factual info regarding the actual markets, but below is a list of what people have guesstimated. I'm not sure where Verizon actually began, however, I am sure that in order to stay on schedule, work has to be underway somewhere.
