I currwently have an Iphone 3g and becaue of the Ios4 update I definitely need something else. Ios4 has slowed it down to the point it is annoying. So heres my dilemma:

Do I get an Iphone 4 or do I get an HTC Evo 4g?

Give me honest opinions. I use my phone a lot. Mostly for social networking and texting. i have a lot of apps on my iphone that I love like IMDB and FML but most of what I use it available on Android as well. I know about the price difference, but Ive been paying for ATT for years so it wont be a big deal to continue. Anyway, let me know what you think.

I posted this in the Iphone4 forums too just to be fair.

Try both and make your decision. You can have Evo for free for 30 days as Sprint has 30 days free guarantee now. I love Evo after having Hero and Moment for some time. See my other post about $10 discount.

I just had to make the same decision you are making. Stick with AT&T and buy an iPhone 4 or switch to Sprint for the EVO 4G. I decided to give the EVO a test run. After the first few days I was about to return the EVO because of the battery life but then I read about how to deal with that issue and then I really fell in love with it. When I did go back to the iPhone for a day (still had my AT&T service active) I just could not make myself be satisfied with it. The screen looked like a postage stamp and it seemed so slow. I did preorder the iPhone 4 just in case and I did go look at it today. It is sure well made and the screen clarity is amazing, but it is still the same size screen and it was also not as fast as my EVO in direct head to hea...

Before I just gave my own general impression as to which phone is better. Now I will cover a couple more specific catagories.

Camera- iPhone 4 seems to blow the EVO 4G away.

Apps- Apple has more apps but Android is catching up and has more open developement

Reception- I get better reception with the EVO so far, but that depends on your area.

Browser- both have good browsers but the EVO is a small bit better and supports Flash...not to mention the huge screen. Plus, the EVO is a bit faster

Customization- EVO wins hands down

Social Networking- Apple is still so limited in this category while the EVO shines

Processor speed- The EVO seems to have a very slight advantage

So, if you consider your phone a web browser that ...

Heres the thing. I do social netowkr a lot but the other thing I really use it for is the camera. I tdont own a digital camera and I have been using my Iphone 3g as my primary camera. So, now im even more conflicted.

Camera = Iphone

Social Networking = Evo.

This decision just keeps getting harder and harder.

If you have been happy with the camera on the iPhone 3G you will still be better off with the EVO4G. It will be far better at social networking and the camera is still better than the iPhone 3g. It is just not as good as the one on the iPhone 4. I am still managing to get very good videos and pics from my EVO after tweeking the adjustable settings...but I am pretty familiar with cameras. It still will not replace my Mino HD though.

I got iphone 4 on Thursday, and the EVO on Friday. I have owned every iPhone, and I was concerned not being able to jailbreak iPhone 4 because of AT&T sending signals to our iPhone's to detect if the phone has been tampered with and shutting them down. Also I'm really upset because it has no flash player, every phone will have it soon, why not the great iPhone?? So I decided to get the EVO also to see if it was 'that good'.. Well the EVO turned out to be way more than I expected. It has everything you could ever want in a phone. The call quality was excellent and I had NO dropped calls.. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning was strictly EVO, I had to learn, or attempt to learn a new OS. I started to test both cameras and video recorder. iPho...

Its hard to ask a question like this. As we all try to be honest, we all use our phones differently so what we like may not work for you. I have never used an iphone for extended periods, but I have the Evo and I will never go down past a 4inch screen again. I think the size of the Evo beats the resolution of the iphone 4. But in all seriousness, I think both phone perform well enough for you to do everything you need to do and more.

For you Evo users, download Dolphin Browser HD. It really enhances you internet experience. And Skyfire for better Flash.
