They should charge $ 199 for the phone with a 2 year or new line of service. We shall see what they actually do.

If they charge more than an Iphone than that isn't going to do much to attract new customers. Yes you can say that this is better than an Iphone, and I am not debaiting this, but the Iphone is at this time an Icon, and a known quantity. People will be excited about the Gen 4 Iphone and how it exists in the apple ecosystem with the ipad etc. Again not my personal opinion but the public loves the apple experience and they leverage it across devices better than anyone. If there were good andriod desktops, pen tablets, readers etc than the android experience would have a significant following. This may happen but it is not the case now. Also when you are Orwellian like Apple you can force all third parties to be consistant with your experience. Sure it hampers inovation but it also insures consistancy for the masses that they love. Android will get there but we are in Gen 2 and apple is on Gen 3+ at this time. We don't have good cut and paste at this time but they didn't till 3.x either.

I have a droid and I have had an Iphone. In a lot of ways I prefer the Droid but there are a lot of people who still think that an Iphone is still a better phone (maybe true if you like games etc). I will likely get an Evo if it is affordable, or maybe an N1. I don't like the trackball on the N1 (seems like it will get dirty and cant be cleaned).
