Does anyone know what the price will be for this phone if you sign up for a 2 year contract?

I can afford what I want to afford. I was wondering if it will be north or south of around $400?

RENOB12 that comment was probably meant as a joke.
With a contract I will guess that it will be the same as an iPhone.
$199 seems to be the magic number but nobody has an official price yet.

Yeah, I was just busting your balls buddy. There isn't an exact release date yet but once there is most likely the price will be announced the same time.

Oh ok, This is my first post and I was like WTF? this board is a bunch of a-holes. Sorry, i didnt catch the sarcasim. No worries and thanks for the info.

I just was wondering if they were going to try and over price this thing at first and kinda ride the hype wave, and then drop the price like 2 months after its released.

Its kinda tough to predict, HTC phones typically don't change in price in sprint retail locations.

They should charge $ 199 for the phone with a 2 year or new line of service. We shall see what they actually do.

If they charge more than an Iphone than that isn't going to do much to attract new customers. Yes you can say that this is better than an Iphone, and I am not debaiting this, but the Iphone is at this time an Icon, and a known quantity. People will be excited about the Gen 4 Iphone and how it exists in the apple ecosystem with the ipad etc. Again not my personal opinion but the public loves the apple experience and they leverage it across devices better than anyone. If there were good andriod desktops, pen tablets, readers etc than the android experience would have a significant following. This may happen but i...

i agree with the price of 199.99 after mail in rebate. if it's more than that, it will turn out to be like the touch pro 2 and not many consumers had it or even asked about it. the only way i see this phone competing with the iphone is with the form factor and all touch screen. after those 2 features, they are completely different. in other words, i dont see the majority of iphone users jumping ship just for this phone.

the phone is pretty sweet and as long as it is priced right, it will sell.

I couldn't have said this better myself. I have used iphone and android OS and I will be the first to say that the iphone has an excellent OS. Android is just all over the place and the apps are not monitored and controled the way Apple does. The apps selections for iphone are the best in my opinion.
I say this phone will be $399 minus the $150 or whatever. I am a S|P customer and so I upgrade once a year. I tried the HTC Hero...I thought it was the biggest piece of garbage. I tried for the full 29 days to like it...never worked out. I had to go back to my blackberry because of the way the calendar is set up.

Not really what sprint does, they subsidize phones a lot less than other companies because their plans are usually cheaper. I am guessing its going to be between 279.99 to 399.99 before 100 dollar Mail in rebate. Thats what sprint priced their last two best phones (hero and touch pro 2).

I agree more than likely it's going to be 299.99 with a mail in rebate, that's what i paid for my Pre and iPhone brought everyone into line

Given the current price of HTC touch pro 2 $299.99 after $100 mail in rebate I am guessing the price is going to be Similar to that, bigger screen, no keyboard etc. The foot print is still realatively small for the 4G network, So I am interested to see if they restrict sales to locations that have 4g or not. Given the I phone Originally came out at prices around $600 $299 isn't bad for up to 10 times the speed of the Iphone.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they will sell it in all locations! At the CTIA 2010 during one of the demos of the phone it was running on 3G! Unfortunately those who don't live in a current 4G city won't be able to use it...4G speed that is! Including myself in a non 4G area will be out of luck, but 3G & Wifi are good enough for me now!

That's really illogical of you jeryzkid. If a loaf of bread costs $12, I could afford it, but out of sheer principle I wouldn't ever pay for such a product.
