you can email them to your phone if you don't feel like paying for them through get it now. search the web to find some and save them to your hd. then just email to your phone as an attachment and send it to your10digitcellphonenumber@vzwpix.com (with no subject and description) and you should get it in about 10 seconds. it will cost you .25 cents for a pix message, even though it's a ringer and not a picture. one thing though, it has to be under 30k...

and you can do with same with wallpaper, and the file size for that doesn't matter...

it should work if you send it to XXXXXXXXXX@vzwpix.com, XXXXXXXXXX being your 10 digit cell phone number, and attach it. it works everytime for me. one thing though, make sure the ringer is under 30k or it will NOT work. maybe that was your problem?

it's considered a pix message, so you charged .25 cents if you are charged for each one individually. the charge depends on your specific plan...

I can get the ringtone to the phone and it plays back fine within the pic app in the phone. Once I save it as a ringtone, the volume is lowered dramatically. Anyone else have this problem?

i noticed some are much louder on my PC than they are on my phone after they are sent, but that's about it. if you want, you can edit the audio using anvil studio to make it louder. the free trial is available at www.download.com and it works pretty good from what i hear. that's really all you can do about it...

i also go about getting free ringtones in a simular way. however, i choose to use a different program to edit the mp3 into a ringtone. if you ever have time, i suggest cool edit pro 2.1 for the digital audio editing program. there is a free tial version avaliable at softpedia.com or just use this link (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Cool-E dit-Pro-Download-2076.html) It really helps to reduce file size while keeping great digital quality. it does a plethera of conversions such as sterio to mono (a huge file reduction) you can save to just about any file quality that you want, i found that 48kbps at a mono setting is closest the the vx6000's speaker capability. also with cool edit pro you can run the mp3 through various noise, hiss, an...
