Ally2 Coming in July

DMZ

Jun 18, 2010, 10:49 PM
I was in a VZW store yesterday, Salesman said the Ally2 and the next Moto Droid are coming out in July.

Played with the current models extensively. Though the Ally was nice, it paled speed wise in comparison to the current Droid and the Incredible. I figured there has to be a reason Verizon all of a sudden dropped the Ally's price to $49.95 (with 2 year contract) as soon as it hit the stores. The best part of the LG Ally is clearly the keyboard.

And from what I've seen of the new Droid X on engaget.com, the original Moto Droid will be history.

I work in verizon and I haven't heard anything of this, but if they do I would be fairly surprised. it would be quite a fast turnaround. However, it is possible.

There are rumors of a few droids coming out though next months, but these seem to be Motorola only. I would definately hold out for them.

I will say if you are looking for a cheaper low end device the Ally can't be beat. If you want the best processor, camera, and the latest and greatest wait a few weeks. Personally I love the size of the Ally and the Droid x might be to large for my liking.

FYI depending on where you are, hhgregg is launching Verizon agents across the country and they have the Ally for free no rebate in their ads right now. so you could get an Ally for free (great Phone) or wait and pay 200+ for the Droid x or Droid 2 (coming a little later).

I am pulling the trigger on the Al...
