I was looking into getting the Samsung SCH-a610 for verizon. Does it have the abitlity to take pictures and use them as caller id pictures. EX- say John called could I have taken a picture of John before and see his face on the screen when he calls. This model also only has the one main screen.. are there any other phone supported by verizon that have another small LCD on the outside that could do the same caller id picture funcion. I hope since i am new i haven't offended anyone or broken any rules (like posting in the wrong forum).. so please don't flame me if i have.

If you look at the specs, it says PICTURE ID-YES. I dont have this phone but have researched very deeply, but changed my mind for the new video messaging phones coming out this month. Hope this helps. 😁

Yes, exculisevly. The Audiovox 9900, LG VX7000, and the Motorola V710 (IF IT EVER DOES COME OUT, its taking forever.) The vox and lg are suppose to come out when verizon introduces video messaging capability coming out either the 15th or the 25th of this month. No concrete date yet. The moto v710 has no date either though. Although motorola and verizon are spreading rumors between end of june to late july. Expect it in the next month. If you chose to wait for a BT phone. So you will have a lovely selection of new hi-tech phones to choose from in the following weeks. The samsung a670 is out and can record video,BUT you cant send them to other phones. Thats the only drawback.

The new Samsung A670 video phone is also quite cheap compared to Verizon's other picture phones...same price as the VX6000 and cheaper than the 8900 and A610. the A610 does cost more, but then again the A670 doesn't have the RCP or swivel camera. Video messaging packages have been confirmed at 20 messages/month for $2.99 or 40 messages/month for $4.99.
