A610 vs. VX 6000

Hi everyone!

I'm upgrading from my three year old Nokia in three weeks and I am sooo excited! However, I'm a bit confused.

I really like both these phones. The VX6000 has the nice external display, but my phone now doesn't really have one and I'm ok without it. I don't like the camera on the VX. It's pretty poor. The camera on A610 is nice.

My question is regarding the Get it Now and the polyphonic ringtones....I heard that the VX6000 can play 40 chords at once while this is only 16 or 14 chords. Do they play the same ringtones? I'm really confused on these phones.

Which would you recommend and why? I wear a blazer every day, so size is not a matter as I've got huge pockets lining my jacket.

Also, I hate to double post, but I am curious as to the screens. The LG can obviously display more colors at 262,000 vs. 56,000, but is this very relevant? Does this ever come into play? What do you guys think about this? Which phone has the better screen?

Thanks!

😁 The a610 has a way better display and the funny things is that the 6000 has a 262k display and the a610 has a 65k, take a pic and compare. The a610 all the wayyyyyy=)

I have owned both of these phones. I like the feel and quality of both. The size of the 6000 is a little nicer, but I don't mind the larger a610. The display, for the most part is pretty much the same on both which makes no sense, but I would give the edge to the a610. As far as the camera goes, definitely goes to the a610!! As far as ringtones go, the LG plays higher end tones, but the speaker usually distorts them so it sounds like crap. If you need a loud tone or alarm though, the LG wins hands down. Ringtones are not that important to me. If I were picking one or the other, I would probably go with the Samsung as long as the external display and the size is not an issue.

What about the Get it Now service? I heard that the LG has a newer BREW version.

Can't really say. They both seem the same to me except for the startup graphic. All the same apps seem to be there though.

I will probably get the VX 6000 then and later just upgrade to a better phone (hopefully that amazing looking Samsung on the front page or the vx 8000). I don't see a reason to spend the extra money, but I'd like to see some more opinions.

Yes, Vx6000 has newer version of Get It New. But honestly, it doesn't make much difference for me.
