Samsung SCH-A610

Has anybody noticed that the SCH-A610 has a speakerphone that is used for multimedia messaging? Try the following sequence (don't worry, it's free): Click Menu -> Messages -> Send New Msg -> Pix Msg -> scroll down to the Sound field (no need to fill out the other fields) -> click Option -> Record New -> now speak for up to 30 seconds into the phone -> click Done -> Next -> Preview. This sounds very speakerphone-like to me, except that I can't get it to work for a phone call. Am I missing something?
