don't get me wrong, VZ has great service, but when it comes to phones the company sucks. why does it take so long to get the bugs worked out of new phones?? I actually work for them, mostly the reason i have their service, but if i didn't, i'm sure i would be with another carier. take a look at AT&T. their phone selection in awesome, sure it seems like all they sell is damn nokias. you would be suprised how many people come in to the store and ask if we cary nokia. most people walk out because we only have one of their phones. also AT&T has a great selection of FREE phones. VZW has Kyocera 2325s! WOW! Everyone wants one of those! NOT! Why can't we have the V60 for free like everyone else does. I'm sure that would bring more busi...

I'm also a VZW employee, however not on the sales end. The problem is that we don't really have any competition. Cingular is our closest competitor, and they are still around 10 million customers short compared to us. Expect this all to change though if the AT&T/Cingular merger goes through. This will put the fear of God into the people in New Jersey who make all the decisions. Expect big changes in the way we do things if we actually get bumped down to #2 in the nation. Denny Strigl will not put up with that.

I don't know what authorized dealer you work for but vzw tests their phones a lot more to work out the bugs.
A lot of the other companies out there feature a lot of the same phones. But they spend 1/3 of the time testing it. Why do you think that is? They want to get it out there and make money. VZW has an obligation as the largest cellular phone comany in america. They don't want to put crap out there then hope it works. Plus it is cheaper in the long run to have a working phone on the market instead of doing a warranty exchange 5 times each phone.
Let me know what you think.

In the long run VZW is going to try and get things done alot faster just because they will have that compitition to get to the top and stay there. With AT&T they will be neck to neck with who gives better plans and better service. I kinda think that xcingular buying out AT&T they might have a few more costemers then VZW. I dont really know till they do it. After that it depends on who can hold out with cheaper prices and the deaper POCETS. That could be a big surprise for xcinguler WHO KNOWS. We will see when that comes.

In fact, A610 is only the 3rd Samsung phone Verizon has; and they just started working together for about a year. I believe, and hope, Samsung's delivery to Verizon will become much faster and smoother in the near future, like they do to Sprint and T-mobile now. As a matter of fact, Samsung is the biggest CDMA phone manufacturer in the whole world; and Verizon is the biggest carrier in America. They should be able to make thing better.

Not to nit-pick, but it will actually be the 5th Samsung in their current lineup, and looking back a couple years, I recall the N300 and T300 being carried by Verizon...
