Tmobile uses the same 3g frequencies as Europe, so making it work with Tmobile means it can be sold overseas as a 3g phone as well.

At the same time, while ATT is FINALLY joining the android revolution, don't expect them to really push the platform until the iphone is non exclusive (looking to be sometime this year) The iphone is their cash cow, and they want to get as many people pulled in for it as possible.
