Two questions on Backflip (contacts and delete messages)

I am trying to figure out the following:

How do I quickly search all contacts to make a call?

How do I delete all messages in universal or separate boxes?

Can't figure out help. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Searching Contacts:

While on one of the homescreens or while in your contacts just start typing either on the virtual keyboard or the hardware keyboard. The phone will display a list of your contacts that match the text you enter.

Text Handling:

Using the standard text messaging app you can delete ALL of your conversations by pressing the menu key while on the page that lists the conversations. You can delete a single conversation by viewing that conversation and then selecting the menu key for the delete option. You can delete an individual text by long holding on the text until the menu pops up.

also to bring up the virtual keyboard with the phone closed shut, hold down the menu key and it will pop up.
