Motorola V600
Speaker phone and release date 1/15/04
I spoke to a Motorola rep today and he confirmed to me that the Motorola V600 does have a speaker phone in it. Also, he confirmed that the phone would be release and ready to buy on 1/15/04.

will it be available to cingular customers on that date? no one from cingular even knows about this phone as they are only anticipating the v400.

Just joined today, hope I can be somewhat helpful and can get some help in return. I am in SoCal and have been a Cingular customer since they were PacBell. I, like all of you am interersted in the V600 and have talked to Motorola and Cingular directly for some time. The latest I have gotten out of them is the following: until further notice, cingular will only carry the v400, which has nearly all of the v600 features, but no bluetooth, which to me is essential. They have a v400 in their corporate store on 8th street and wilshire which i saw. It is in the back, but they will show it to you. I also got a brochure for the v400 from them. I will wait for the v600, but am concerned that cingular, who i like will never get it. motorola sai...

I just got through trading e-mails with a customer service supervisor at Motorola who said that the January 15th date is probably NOT going to be correct. He is the one that stopped the CSRs from putting out the Dec 19th release date. He said that the release date should be set sometime after the holidays.

And now the motorola site has changed the release (and this site here has updated quickly) to 1st half 2004...so the new question is, are the v600s on ebay the real deal, or are the v600s that will be released later going to be different?

There are many places on the internet that offer remote unlocking on Motorola cell phones (they'll email the unlock code once you provide your IMEI number). Here's one... http://www.cellphonesltd.net

I have been looking to get the v600 ever since Motorola announced the phone in late 2002 and have been watching this group for the past few months.
I have seen numerous posts on this phone's release date, however I think people are missing the boat here - this phone will not be released in the US until the FCC approves it, which hasn't happened as of today. I visit the FCC's OET Authorization System daily to see if they have approved this phone yet, and they have not.
Given that we are less than a month away from this phone's purported release date and it hasn't been approved by the FCC, I would be very surprised if Motorola (given their track record) is able to approve, manufacture or apply the labels to the phone (if alre...

🙂 ive been waiting for this phone for months!! and i tryed looking at the motorola website about it but it doesnt say what service provider its gonna have? does anybody know?? also i found a v600 on ebay are those real or are those just phonies ?
