THIS V600 IS NOTHING BUT DRAMA !!!

Ok so I bought 2 V600s one for me and one for my girlfriend. I bought them brand new (the unlocked and unbranded ones)and I've had them about a month and have had nothing but problems.....

My phone had the cracking face lense problem. A piece fell off the phone...(solid, eh). I sent that to Motorola for repair. It's been there about 2 weeks.

Now my girlfriends phone has a problem with the camera. It doesn't work....Gotta send that one in now.

This is the first Moto I bought since analog and I don't know why so much drama with the quality? I've had 30 phones in all my life and never have I had such problems.

😡 😡 😡 😡 😡

You're just a drama queen. V600 is nice and stable. Both of you must have been throwing the phone around and treating it like an old rag. If you pay such a high price for a phone, treated like an egg. Everything you have said is a lie and the phone is rock solid. Of course it will not survie a fall to solid concrete. When you get your phone back, treated well and don't post any negativity again.

Disagree, dude -- these phones are touchy as all get out. Our V525s are on our back-up lines (nice to have neat camera stuff for out of town, quad-band, bluetooth). Depend on them for MUST HAVE day-to-day communications??; no way!! Nokia 6100 in my pocket with an unlocked 6200 in my briefcase for low signal areas. Motorola for neat pictures when doing nothing better when somewhere else then at home.

Listen Elmo....

Read the posts, there is a flaw with V600 that causes the black lense to crack b/c of the friction caused by opening the flip.

As for treating the gently I do as does my g/f. We are both white collar professionals. We don't do construction or anything that physical that would entail "dropping the phone on cement."

As for negativity....hello we both had the phones for not even a month and the lense cracked and then a piece fell off and then the camera stopped working on the other one.

This phone is flawed and I am a white collar worker a VP in fact and treat my phone with velvet gloves. In fact I use bluetooth and the phone stays in the cradle a good portion of the time. I have a long history with Motorola phones and they build a poor product. I am very good friends with one of the store managers of one of the largest retail outlets in Southern CA and we always talk about how poor Motorola phones are and all the problems they have. I am offended that you are trying to tell me what I can and can not post here. Thats what this forum is for. There are several know issues with this phone from software to hardware. This is a poor product.

I have to apologize to anyone that I have offended and disagreed with. You guys are were right. The V600 does have a few flaws. I found my first one today. The digital time display on the cover of the phone was not displaying correctly. It's hard to explain, but think of it this way. When you press the screen of a calculator. You know the numbers loose their appearance and show up as characters. Well that happened to mine. It was weird. I shut off the phone and on and it seemed to have cleared it. Once again, I apologize for disagreeing with anyone here. 😉

No problem - I dont mind dissagreement at all - I think everyone just wants the freedom to post their own oppinion rather it agrees or not. Thanks

Good info here. I was about to buy the v600 until I read this thread. Can anyone recommend another flip/camera/speaker? VZ or ATT. Thanks

I'm impartial to TMobile. But if possibly lookin to them, Samsung E715. Doesn't have speaker though. Beautiful phone though. I think it's the best one out there.

The V600 is a great phone, maybe I just got a lemon.

Good Luck

v500/v525 if you want to stay with Moto. I have 2 of them, one flashed to v600 software. Both work fine. None of the cracking/breaking/fitment problems folks seem to have with the 600.

Thanks for the reply. I've owned several Moto phones with no real problems and I find it hard to believe Moto would release the phone with so many problems described in the forum.

I'm still tentative about commiting to it for a year. I need a push off the fence.

Hmm, I suppose I should feel lucky. I bought a US-domestic unlocked, unbranded V600 back halfway through Feb, and it's been 99% trouble-free.

The FW is 09.27R and flex GC9V600000NA0DE.

I haven't had any physical problems with it yet. - no scratches (except really minor ones from regular usage and constantly taking it in and out of its pouch) and no cracking. I protect the screen by cutting up and using PDA screen covers. The top of the main body has a long 'notch' running the length of the hinge where the "protective" rubber strip would go. I suspect that rubber strip is the source of a lot of headaches...

Software-wise, the only bug that I'm experiencing is the time-skewer bug, where the clock is off by 4:15:00 when I set it. ...

It seems like the unlocked/unbranded phones are the ones having all the problems. I too bought a V600 for my wife and me but have had nothing but sucess and great reception. Our phones sound better than our land-line! The only problem I have had is with dust getting inside the exterior LCD and that was defeated with a little compressed air duster. I pay $6 dollars a month to insure these phones and have had nothing but sucess. You bought yours unbranded and unlocked and yours are falling apart, it could a coincidence but maybe moto resolved some build issues before ATT got the phone. Just my humble opinion. 😕

Yeah I'm not too sure if if there is a correlation b/w having unlocked/unbranded phones and problems.

There were people listing on this site that have/had AT&T bought Moto's and have had to exchange them out.

We'll see. I haven't had Motos since analog and I'm not too happy with the lense cracking on my phone and then the camera stopped working on my girlfriends phone.

FYI, michko - other people have had their cameras stop working, too. I know I've read about people having success bringing their cameras back to life by re-flashing the firmware and/or flex.

Have you done a master reset?

Hey Panga,

Yeah I did that. I re-flashed the firmware and did a master reset.

Thanks for the response. I'm just digusted with the 2 V600's that right now are at Motorola getting fixed.
