Motorola V600
Latest S/W and Flex??
The latest firmware on the web is 0B.09.1DR - okay, but not bug free
I don't know about flex.
BTW, If you have 0B.09.1CR, I suggest NOT flashing it to 1DR!
Cassie
i haven't noticed a single problem with the DR version and i've been using the phone all weekend. with and without a bluetooth headset (jabra 200). i haven't had any white screens of death or lockups.
not saying you should flash it (to anything) but wondering what your problems were with DR cassy? and did you flash back to CR?

1. Does this mean that it can never be repaired....dead...or can it be re-flashed?
2. Will the software work on a Windows2000 machine?
Thanks for the help again Cassie.
2. yes. i have been using a w2k machine as well as a xp machine.
When it comes to flashing, I tend to be a bit more conservative than my fellow V600ers. I wouldn't recommend that you do it unless you need something from a different firmware that you absolutely cannot live without... especially if you love how well your phone is working now.
And apparently, not all V600's act the same with the updated firmware. Cassie, did the re-flash fix the lockups and glitchy behavior for you?
Anyone have a suggestion?
After I listen to my voice message, if I power my phone off and on again, it resets the VM indicator amd it along with the text message indicator work fine.
However, I do have to power my phone off and on again.
By the way, don't forget to send me the GPRS setup instructions.
Cassie
My V600's VMI doesn't have a problem on Cingular in St. Louis.
I reflashed my v600 to 1DR ... and it seems okay now.
Locking some things doesn't seem to work though - like if I try to lock Pictures (and keep Multimedia above it unlocked), I can still get into Pictures without my password! Same thing happened with 1CR.
But 1DR feels faster - probably because it doesn't have the Asian languages đ
Cassie
I went to 1DR also, but I am still having some serious problems with text messages and voice mail indicator. Are you having the same issues?
Also, what version of FLEX are you running. It appears I am running GI9V600000AA0E9.
/Spencer
The GI9V6 flex is an older flex with AOL Instant Messenger in it; the newer flex in the 1DR flash file doesn't have AIM. So if you're not on T-Mobile (which is the only US carrier to support an included AIM, I think), I wouldn't flex it with the older flex after flashing it with 1DR.

S/W VERSION: TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.26R
DSP S/W VERSION: 62E2E000
This is what I currently have on my phone. Does anybody else have this; and have problems with signals failing. (I have T-Mobile service in Central Illinois)
all I'm saying is that the 1DR flash/flex from cjb doesn't have AIM.
The stand-alone flex from cjb includes AIM, and this flex is older than the flex in the 1DR flash/flex.

When I received the original instructions on how to find the firmware, I had to install the MPT into an WinXP Virtual PC hard drive image. Ran that and it took a few tries, but the software finally loaded and I was able to find the firmware. Trying to update MPT to 2.0 is close to impossible; it just goes into a hang after about 30 seconds and literally stayed that way all night. I can live without flashing but want to see if the firmware resolves a few signal issues I am having.
Getting VPC to acknowlege USB is easy, however the software wizard will not recognize the USB port, at least version 2.16 will not (the version I got from motclub.com).
could you post the http link?
I have a iBook myself đ with Virtual PC ... but I wouldn't imagine flashing my v600 through VPC ... because the flashing would be done through USB, and the Mac emulates the USB hardware, which means there could be timing problems (USB info not being sent or received "on time") ... which means that it could make problems with flashing if data doesn't get to the phone on time.
Go with a professional if you can, or if you like to be risky, go ahead and do it from a Windows PC đ đ
Macs rule!

Yes, the MultiFlashFlex software works in Windows 2000

You seem to be the expert...I got a 2nd phone from Plemix and this one shows GPRS on the home screen whereas my first one does not. Also this one has chinese text as on option whereas the first one doesn't (not like I need it).
I can't have the date show on the main menu, nor can I get the firmware numbers?
HELP!!
âšī¸
it seems like there's a flex on your 2nd phone that hides the firmware numbers. it also sounds like you probably have firmware 1CR (you can find out by using MPT II's info) ...
If you flash it with 1DR from v600.cjb.net, (without using the extra flex), you should see the date instead of GPRS ...
Cassie đ
your phone sounds exactly like the one i got a week ago (green startup screen).
i flashed it (apparently illegally too) with 1DR. still have the green screen, but now european languages instead of the asian ones.
but what's the problem you're having?
I have noticed tonight with a friend of mine who got a Plemix phone yesterday that his has 1DR software, and mine is 1CR. It appears that he is not having the voicemail indicator problem so I am wanting to update my phone.
Can you provide directions including the steps and location to find the files I need to do this? Is it easy to do? Will it take long?
Thanks in advance.
