Cassie, i got my phone where you told me...however,my voicemail icon goes away, perhaps you have really old message in there somewhere...i would think we have the same model....or ware of the phones...i can check, if i knew how.. 😕

I have the same problem as Cassie, however, I use Cingular. It might be either an issue with compatibility with the model and the provider or a Bug in the system.
My Verison is TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.14R.
I am checking around for posting, yet I don't now if that problem is fixable by this or not.

I know that a few of you have this problem on your V600...and it seems that some people have this problem and others do not. It may be regional or carrier-specific, and it may not...I have no clue.
I have AT&T in the Northwest and I have this problem with the VMI (voicemail icon) staying on long after I deleted the voicemail.
This fixed it though, takeg out the 4 digit password that is stored in your voicemail slot OR just call your cell phone number (the 10 digits only). This instantly removed the VMI from my v600. It works...but I don't really want to have to put in my 4 digit pass everytime...but it works in the meanwhile.
