Phone Book feature

I've heard some complaints about the phone book how it lacks the ability to store multiple numbers under the same name. I heard if someone has say a work number and a cell number then you have to have 2 entries instead of filing them under one. Can anyone that has this phone confirm this? Also, are there any other cons to this phone. I am debating between this one the Nokia 6600, and samsung d415, but those seem a little too big and I dont like to worry about locking the keypad.

Thanks!
Mike

I have had mine a week and your understanding is true. Each entry is seperate, but I think this is due to the fact that you have voice dialing. Others please correct me if i am wrong

I have the Nokia 6230 and I can assign voice tags to each number listed under a contact. I checked a contact that had multiple #'s assigned.

You are incorrect.. however the way to change the default listing mode is not simple to find..

First, go to your phonebook..
Scroll down to the [New Entry] at the way bottom.
Hit the menu key (the one with 4 lines on it at the top center of the keypad)
Select ‘Setup’ from the menu
Change the value of ‘View’ to Primary Contacts (from ‘All Contacts’)

For it to work you have to have your phonebook entries saved to the phone and not the SIM card
You will need to go through your phonebook and designate a primary entry for each name..

Once you have done this your contacts will be grouped by name..

I hope this helps,

Been in the business 10yrs and thought I knew all about my v600.

People complain about this so much.

Phone only gives number selection when names are exact, correct? I had my entries as Jackie cell, Jackie work and had to edit them.

Great tip TK, I will share it and many will be happy.

I will confirm the above message. You can have multiple numbers per contract!

When in Phonebook Edit mode, scroll down to ...MORE... (it's past the first screen) to add an additional number for that contact. (I don't think some people scroll far enough down).

Once you set your phone book to view only primary contacts (instructions in previous message)...to view other numbers you simply VIEW the contact and use the arrow key to scroll down!

In phonebook setup, you can also change the view from Photo (default) to a List view which I personally like better.
