I am a novice when it comes to phones, especially the android OS but I'm learning more and more about rooting.
I am posting here to see if anyone else has had the question, and hopefully the answer as, to if the HTC DROID ERIS will be able to run 2.2 either w/ or w/o rooting..

As far as a OTA update being sent out its doughtfull that it will happen.....however I have seen a few 2.2 based ROMS over at xda's website for rooted users...hope this helps :-)
