Bluetooth Voice Dialing

I just got my Eris on Saturday and have since discovered that there is no Bluetooth voice dialing. I did some research and it sounds like it's an Android OS issue (an email to HTC also confirmed this). Is there any planned upgrade to fix this, or is there a hack to get it working? I'm used to putting my Bluetooth headset on in the car, pushing the button, and having it activating voice dialing so all I have to do is say "Call [person] home" and it will work - basically, I don't have to touch my phone or take my eyes off the road at all. The Eris doesn't work that way.

Thanks for the info. Do you know when the update should be coming OTA? Is there a list of bug fixes that will be addressed in the next release?

I may try the alternate method, although I am a little hesitant. I'd like to know when it will be released before doing this.

Good timing for your response. I have a general ball park answer for you at this time. I apologize if this does not narrow it down as much as we would have liked it to. If you're like me, you probably wanted to know YESTERDAY! 🤣

I would hold out as much as I could if I were you on the alternate method. There is nothing worse than bricking an Android phone or hav...

Hmm...the first quarter is almost over. I wonder when they're planning to release this? I have read about bugs that people have experienced when manually upgrading to the newest version, so I'd like to wait. It would be nice to know what will be fixed with the new version.
