The liquid damage indicator the BlackBerry is a small 1/8" square sticker on the housing of the BB itself, NOT the red XXX on the battery. The red XXX may be a liquid damage indicator for the battery, but not for the BB.
On the battery, the moisture indicator is white OR pinkish with RED XXXX on it. If the battery gets wet, the XXXX will smear or turn the whole sticker bright red.

Inside the battery compartment on your blackberry, there will be a small white sticker. This is your moisture indicator for the device itself. If it is another color other then white, your phone has been exposed to moisture... or taken a swim.

You should try Silica Gel Packets to dry out your phone. There was a good article on that explains how to dry a wet cell phone, iPods, or any electronics. You need to take the battery out of your phone and place your cell phone and battery in a zip lock bag with Silica Gel Packets. Silica Gel will remove all the moisture from the phone and its components, something air drying will not do!

Just Google "Silica Gel Packets" and you will find several companies selling these products. There is also a web site called: that has them.

Some of the above has been copied & pasted. I don't sit here writing War & Peace Novels! Hope some of it helps you. If it doesn't work, make sure you see VZW before 10/10/10....Thats Kaput date for the Storm2....
