so I've been noticing lately that my new BB storm2 keeps on shutting off periodically throughout the day? does anyone know how to prevent this or what is causing it? It's happening more when I'm getting a text or a BBM? That the only trouble that I am seeing... and of course it gets annoying after awhile that you try to pick up your phone and its off..
Thanks

By shutting off do you mean the phone is actually rebooting or is the screen just turning off?

If it's just turning off you can adjust these settings:
-Make sure you have Auto On/Off disabled under "Options"

-Under "Options" you can go into Screen/Keyboard and adjust the backlight timeout. That will keep your screen fro...

Other than the auto on/off fields being invoked, there's no logical explantion for that behavior other than a defective unit....

I just purchased the 3-pack Display Protectors but haven't put them on yet. Do you suggest installing them? Are they difficult to install? Will they stop the finger magnet prob lem? How long will they last before you have to replace them? Thank you very much..

If you purchased the Verizon 3-pak, expect one application to last for the life of the phone. It feels and reacts no differently than the glass itself. I had it for the life of my Original Storm and the properties never changed. It becomes integral to the screen.

Make sure you press out any air pockets and apply to a blemish-free surface and you should be good to go. Haven't noticed any significant finger print attraction...

Ditto for the Verizon 3 pack. I replaced one in a year because of a tiny scratch that was driving me nuts.

Having same (?) issue - screen goes black, all buttons disabled and a little clock/radar screen appears and then a bar showing progress then a statement that it is verifying security software (or to that effect) then normal. But, it occurred twice in the same afternoon. Not sure if it's defective. I might call VZW tech support which has a blackberry desk which is EXCELLENT - they even did a warm hand-off to RIM support on an old BB phone. Impressed.

Your phone re-booted properly two times. Check your options/auto on/off settings and disable if they are on....
