I know the 3711 was designed for tethering, but T-mobile will not tell you how to do it. Does anyone out there know how to do it?

I guess for windows you need to get the Nokia suite and connect it then set it up as a modem under windows and dial out to number *99# and connection place is wap.voicestream.com. I use Ubuntu and to tether in Ubuntu you just plug it in and hit T-Mobile phone and connect instantly! That is why I love ubuntu. If you wanna check into using Ubuntu OS or maybe running in virtual window check it out here http://www.ubuntu.com. Good luck tethering in Windows tho 😛

Also it was not necessarily set up for tethering... T-Mobile will scale down your download speed if consuming a bunch really fast just like all other carriers unless on a $25 data plan. Those are fully unlimited and the PDA ones are made for tethering. So no its not really set up for tethering. Good luck in any case though 😛

Very easy to tether, as I've discovered. Simply go to the Nokia site, download and install the Nokia PC Suite, connect your phone to your laptop, open the Suite, and click on the appropriate icon in the Suite for connecting to the internet. I have the $10 a month web2go internet access with T-Mobile, and it is fairly quick with 3G.
