Hi, this is probably a dumb question, but I just bought an Audiovox 8900 and I can't figure out what the TTY mode is all about. Can someone please explain this to me?

TTY Mode allows your phone to communicate with the type of phone that deaf or hearing impaired people use. It takes typed information and transmits it through a regular phone line. In order to use the TTY mode on this phone, you would need a TTY machine hooked up to your home phone line. I hope this answers your question!
