Updated 8900???

people if the phone was fixed of its problems. How come when you call verizon for the phone they wont sell it to you. And they have no record of the phone being sold anymore????

Just FYI when I went to purchase my 8900 on Dec 27 2003 my local store was sold out. They set it to order and ship to my house. I got my 8900 in two working days with no problems.

i just bought one on sat and had trouble returned it on sunday and had trouble with the second one and called verizon today and return that one too ...they said they d mail me one i just might have been getting one form a bad batch...so they r selling cause i was able now to get 3 of them waiting on the 3rd and hoping it works

Just out of curiosity, what state are you in? Did you ask anyone if they're giving you the phones with the updated software?

well when i got there i asked them abiut the recall and they said that it was all fixed and when i returned the first phone i asked again and same reply so i just returned it today and said i ll wait on the one coming in the mail...i live in ohio 1 hr north of columbus...but i never had trouble with any other phone i owned...i had the v120e...satrtac...and also the tm510 and no trouble with signal on them...please help if u have an ideas

You should be able to check the software version through the phone menus (probably under "system" somewhere). The updated software is supposedly version XXXX20_0.189 (the last numbers are the ones that matter). You can also call the store, talk to the tech department and see if they can update your phone with the new software. Hope this helps!

I've had the phone since DAY 1......It has been nothing but trouble.....verizon,as far as I'm concerned, has their head up their ass when it comes to customer service..

I have the updated software on mine(after SEVEN trips back to the store)..

IT has done NOTHING to fix the glitches on this POS....

this phone is going back....and I recommend that you do NOT buy it.. 😡
